It's just good in a bunch of places, and with its triggered ability it has a lot of homes

Any Commander deck can find itself running out of gas if all it can draw is one card per turn, being able to draw many cards per turn gives you options and means you can enact your battle-plan more quickly and more often
Being one of the first iconic cards, and an absolutely beautiful looking one at that, I'm not surprised this is demanding a pretty penny right now
While this one doesnt hit face, it does dig you for more cards, which is also pretty nice
The only exceptions to this rule were lands that produced colorless mana but didnt explicitly mention artifacts in any other way, since casting artifacts was somewhat implied
